Prelude and two Minuets for Ori / Omer Katzir

Standard

First of all, forgive my poor video editing skills, I’m not a video editor, so every video I upload is a challenge, this one was even more challenging because it’s not one musical piece, but three! That been said, let us start. As the name suggests, this work start with a prelude followed by two minuets, a major one and a minor one.

A note about interpretation and articulation

I usually don’t include any articulation marks or any instructions on my music, I leave that to the performer, whoever that may be. Tempo comes in first it’s 100 for the prelude and 90 for the minuets but it’s should actually be moderato (i.e. 108-120) As for articulations, whatever sounds good for you, is probably right, just don’t go too crazy and articulate every single dotted note. In my mind, articulation should be done gracefully.

An error

At the end of the first Minuet, there’s a repeat missing (it does appears at the start of the section), I couldn’t find out why Lilypond won’t allow me to put the repeat there, so please don’t forget to repeat the section as intended.

P.S.

This is by far the most complected and longest composition I’ve written to date.

Ori’s Waltz / Omer Katzir

Standard

Nothing too much to write about, it a slow and very simple waltz dedicated to my wonderful niece, Ori Livnie.

Well, there actually few things to write about it. For one, I play in faster tempo, about 110. Second, 4th bar, I don’t play it as written, I play the first chord as dotted one and shorter with the second chord. Finally, I use different chord at the end of the second part, just go G# Minor in any position you like.

It’s more of educational piece for beginning students as it’s very easy to analyze with guitar tablature for new students without musical background. Composed at October 2nd 2020, recorded at the 9th.
