StandardFirst of all, yes, I forgot to turn on the lights, I prefer darkness. Not good for my eyes.
Saying that, I really like this pavane, easy on the ears and really fun to play, it’s one of these Renaissance pieces you shouldn’t skip when playing or studying Renaissance music with not that complex composition.

StandardAnother beautiful piece, also know as Pavane. Only heard it once in a Facebook lute group before trying to playing it myself and it’s not only beautiful, but really fun to play. I really hope that one day I’ll be able to play these dances with other people.

Fantasia No 41 / Francesco Canova da Milano
StandardThis is a beautiful, beautiful fantasy and one of the first pieces I learned in the days before time. There’s so much to love in this small piece, there’s the start, the voices, the suspensions and of course, the final cadence which concludes it all in a very simple and elegant way. This one is a timeless and I hope you all agree with me. Lute by James Marriage (2006) after Hans Frei.

Galliard / Pietro P. Borrono
StandardI keep working and this week, this nice little galliard by the Italian Pietro P. Borrono (1490-1563). I think this galliard have a very nice tune, moving from low to high and back in a very elegant way, I always wonder how the courts looked like when playing these dances.

By now I already got used to the new equipment, I still need to find the right mix of frets and strings to perfect the sound. Some even suggested a new lute but that’s all I can afford right now.
